The US treasury bond is the highest quality bond in the world because it's basically guaranteed by the Fed.The irony is that US bonds used as collateral help other countries get more US dollars which is a useful for any foreign countries who want to pay down their debts denominated in US dollars because that US denominated debt is crushing their economy and currency, so they need dollars to quickly and have an easier time to pay off the US dollar denominated debt.
