Glad you mentioned the US overthrew the Iranian government, but you forgot to mention the Iranian government at the time was a democratically elected government. By starting a coup and toppling the democratic government in Iran, US killed the nascent democracy in Iran and the middle East, and sowed the seeds of hostility towards the US for generations to come. And, of course, after the US straggled Iranian democracy, it installed a despot and a US puppet in office, who in turn brutally murdered and tortured tens and thousands of Iranians

Dude they are not going to give the Naval port away, have you seen the new wall of cantonment in Gwadar, it keeps on going and going and going, Pakistan is not giving away any naval port, yes they are giving away this natural worlds deepest port for trade but Pakistan's Navy base is already there for decades, right on top of the mountain.

Am somali. 10 to 15 yrs from now i think we will be a major hub in this project. Especially since our strategic ports have diversified ownership for state govts to prbt individuals. The security situation will be totally different then. Already people are looking here. Some guys built a factory port to export canned fish products.

My thesis was about the BRI. I remember the chinese were operating secretly a smaller port near gwadar for military technical assistance, but were still in negotiations about gwadar itself prior to covid. Other ports are also down the same line, not just in pakistan, but also in the horn of africa, east africa, and in oman and the indian ocean

animosity started right at the division / migration when migrant trains were massacred an estimated 3 million people died during migration process mostly Muslims hence killed the prospect of any good will between the 2 nations, compounded that with distribution of assets that Pakistan didn't get and Kashmir issue which led to the 1948 war !!!!

You are right about that. We also need to remember that it started even while the British Empire was running the Indian continent, ie. Indian + Pakistan + Bangladesh. I am a Pakistani American it’s fascinating all this back and forth. The US foreign policy sucks at best. It has a big strategic component and a week long term goal. Mossadiq the elected PM of Iran was replaced by the autocratic Shah just because the Iranians told British petroleum to understand that this refinery and oil fields belonged Iran now. The British came crying to the US and CIA installed the Shah.
