I dont want to judge anyone, but if you are seriously considering to live in some country permanently, and you chose it as residence, I think you need to learn their language, culture, traditions, even if you both are foreigners. It's  just respect to this country and the only way for you to be accepted and respected.  

我不想评判任何人,但如果您认真考虑在某个国家长期生活,并选择该国作为居住地,我认为您需要学习该国的语言､文化和传统,即使你们都是外国人｡这是对这个国家的尊重,也是你们被接受和尊重的唯一途径｡


And i'm certain the most important is not if people are treating you as foreigner or not, but if they are friendly to you. And as i can see, most people in China are friendly to foreigners even in small places where they rarely see such.

我确信,最重要的不是人们是否把你当作外国人,而是他们是否对你友好｡就我所见,中国大多数人对外国人都很友好,即使是在很少见到外国人的小地方｡
